PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) -- Retired soccer player Abby Wambach was arrested for a DUII late Saturday night in downtown Portland.

Wambach failed field a sobriety test and was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants (DUII) - Alcohol. She was taken to the police bureau's central precinct, where she failed a breath test. She was later released on her own recognizance.
"Wambach was polite and cooperative throughout the investigation," Portland Police said.
